Player of the Day:

The Nuggets came into tonight with a 5 game winning streak against the conference-worst Utah Jazz. Alec Burks had only started 4 games prior to today and was only starting today due to Gordon Hayward’s strained left hip flexor. He had only scored more than 20 points 4 other times in his NBA career. But Burks came in aggressive and established his presence on the court right from the start, scoring 17 points in the first half alone. He would finish the game with a career-high 34 points on 13 of 19 shooting, with 5 assists and 3 rebounds to match, playing a crucial role in breaking Denver’s streak.
